Hochbahn Jungfernstieg

Aug 2023 / Dec 2023 @ZAUBAR

In collaboration with Hochbahn in Hamburg, we conceptualized and developed an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) application for the Jungfernsteig platform. This famously complex area has been the subject of humorous social media posts due to its labyrinthine layout. The app transforms this frustration into engagement by gamifying the experience: users can participate in a fun mini-game to navigate to the correct exit, while also being able to engage with various events and promotions throughout the station.

My part:

  • Helpt with AR indoor tracking
  • I optimized a 1:1 lidar 3D scan of an entire underground subway station, encompassing all hallways and entrances, to enable real-time rendering on mobile devices. To achieve this, I used retopology and UV unwrapping techniques to optimize the dataset for efficient rendering and visualization.
